James E. Bruce received a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Florida with research focused on ion kinetic energies, ion-molecule chemistry and equilibria measurements with mass spectrometry. His post-graduate research has centered on development and application of accurate mass spectrometry technologies for advanced proteomics studies. Dr. Bruce has held research scientist positions in national, private, and pharmaceutical industry labs. Dr. Bruce began his career in academic research at Washington State University and is currently Professor in the Department of Genome Sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine. His current research interests are on proteome and interactome dynamics with relevance to critical questions in human health.
